For the 2018 camping season they announced more major improvements one being a new entrance at Garden Prairie Road and Jackson Street next to the school. The old original entrance will be permantly close due to a rail road safety issue. The new entrance will have a new office/general store building selling the basics needs. Other 2018 additions will be a 30'x50' in ground swimming pool, club house, and new camping area where the old barn once stood and Wifi all completed by June 1st, 2018. Yes there are new 2018 rates.. This review updated 10/6/17.

Great, friendly place to camp. They need shower houses though. There weren't any public toilets.

This place is terrible, don't waste your time. "Rules" are only enforced if they're the ones that aren't dangerous. Loose dogs, people swimming in the fishing area, and if you report a problem, they don't fix it. They just tell the person you reported that you reported them, creating strife for the rest of your stay. No one ever answers the phone and if you leave a voicemail they never call you back. The older lady at the front desk is always rude and doesn't attempt to be helpful in any situation. The owner is nice and one of the maintenance guys is helpful, but that's about it. The park floods all the time so that you have to move your rv and are left without water or electricity and the park doesn't try to help and here are no refunds. It looks pretty crappy, there's barely any grass. Just mud. Not a fun place unless you really want to be miserable. Would not recommend.

So many nice improvements have been made in such a short period of time with many more changes on their list. The old barn torn down and gravel added to all roads made a huge improvement. Garbage dumpers are no longer over flowing. Beach and swimming area have new sand and new rope off swimming area. They have added 4 paddle boats and built a small pier to accommodate them. They are free to use just sign them out in office where life jackets will be issued. The large building next to beach has a new game room, also new refreshment snack bar selling pizza and real scoope ice cream. The new management Kevin and Crystal along with their employee support team wearing staff shirts are friendly and doing their best assuring an enjoyable stay.

You can leave a message but no one will call you back. This is a very quiet campground on weekdays but on weekends it's a different story with most campers being permanent and weekend partyers. The garbage cans are always overflowing. There are no rules for the permanent residents so it's all golf carts and campfires with as many guest they can get on their lots. If your looking for a nice quiet park then don't park here on weekends. They have big potholes. They are lake sized and deadly. I have seen two fifth wheels with battle scars from trying to get past their congested entry. This is where campers go to die. This could be a great campground with a little TLC from the owners.

Many new fun activities for children and adults have been added and some I've never seen before. One of the popular one's is the the "Wet n' Wild Hay Ride", a big hit with the kids and adults who love getting soaked, but NO FUN on those chilly days. The seasonal sites take their garden hoses aiming at the Wet n' Wild Hay riders as they pass and the kids/adults also shooting back with on board water pump guns. This place has become a fun place for camping families and groups and the kids/adults can't wait to come back. There's also good catch and release fishing in the non-swimming ponds and keep fishing out of the Kishwaukee River that runs through the resort, no license needed. There is no fishing in the swimming pond area, but fishing everywhere else. Some weekends they have a live band performing or DJ playing. The new management is open for suggestions and trying their best to making everyones stay a truly enjoyable one.

This campground is now under new owenership and management since January 2017
